It was exclusively revealed to Football League World that Reading FC have recently rejected bids for young forward, Danny Loader.

The bids from Leicester, Brighton and Cardiff City were all knocked back by the Royals heading into the summer.

In our latest FLW Six Pointer, we look into Loader’s future at Reading in more detail.

Firstly, what do we know about Danny Loader?

"He’s arguably one of Reading’s best academy graduates to break into the first-team.

"Loader is still young and also represents the England under 20’s side which shows how highly rated he is at international level as well.

"He netted his first senior goal against Middlesbrough late into last season with a stunning strike from distance."

Are Reading right to be rejecting bids for him?

"They’ll have a realistic valuation of him.

"Reading are struggling financially at this moment in time, and could be forced to cash in on some of their key players heading into next season.

"But Loader is a player with real potential, who could make it to the very top, so they’ll be wanting a hefty transfer fee for the youngster."

How much is he worth in today’s market?

"You’re looking at a fee in the region of £5m minimum I’d say.

"He only has one year left on his current contract at the Madejski Stadium, and I’d be surprised if the Royals were able to tie him down to a new deal.

"But he’s a player with significant potential, and Reading will know that, so they could be tempted to cash in on him if their valuation of Loader is matched."

Will the Royals be expecting further bids over the summer?

"It’s only a matter of time.

"It’s previously been reported by Goal that Arsenal are keeping an eye on Loader, which shows that he is a player in demand at the moment.

"He’s been impressive in recent months and that seemingly hasn’t gone unnoticed.

"I’d be amazed if the interested parties didn’t test Reading with further bids for Loader before the season gets underway."

What will Loader be thinking after this update?

"His head will have been turned.

"As a footballer, you’re always going to be striving to make it to the very top, and this will be no different for Loader.

"He’ll know that he’s a man in demand, and will be tempted with a move elsewhere to further his career at the earliest of opportunities.

"I think he’ll remain patient with the Royals for one more season though."

Could he be loaned back to Reading for a season if he moved on?

"This certainly shouldn’t be ruled out.

"Loader is a player that has a bright future ahead of him, but wouldn’t be ready for regular first-team football in the Premier League in my opinion.

"So a loan deal back to Reading could help aid his development in the early stages of his professional career."
