Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has moved swiftly to rule out the possibility of midfielder Joe Aribo joining Arsenal, insisting that the he is ready to sign a new deal at the Valley, as per the Evening Standard.

Aribo has scored 12 goals in 86 appearances since breaking into Charlton’s first-team back in 2015 and the midfielder’s recent performances have caught the attention of a host of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal are reportedly hopeful of completing a deal for Aribo in the summer transfer window, with Unai Emery convinced by the 22-year-old’s blossoming potential.

Aribo is out of contract at the end of the season but with Bowyer claiming the youngster is ready to commit his future to Charlton, do you envisage seeing the youngster sign a new deal?

"His head could be turned here.

"When a massive club like Arsenal are supposedly interested in your services, you must surely be tempted.

"However, for his own personal development, sticking around at the Addicks would make sense so he can develop and mature as a footballer."

Alfie Burns

“It’s difficult to say as things can change quickly.

“Right now, focus should be on ending the season strongly for both the player and the club.

“These kind of things can wait another month or so.”

Jay Taylor

“If Bowyer is saying he is ready to sign a new deal, he wouldn’t say it for the fun of it.

“Unless Arsenal come in with an offer that blows the contract out of the water, then I see him staying at the Valley.

“Making something like that public means it is almost as good as signed and sealed.”
