Portsmouth owner Michael Eisner has offered his support to Kenny Jackett and the team after their difficult start to the season.

Pompey have lost two of their opening four fixtures, as well as surrendering a 3-1 lead against Coventry City in midweek, putting some early pressure on Kenny Jackett.

After lifting the EFL Trophy last season and finishing in the top six, expectations are high this time around. Whilst it's too early for real panic, the owner's public outpouring of support might be akin to the dreaded 'vote of confidence' that used to haunt managers in the past.

"Disappointing Tuesday at Fratton Park, on the pitch and on I follow, but Mark and Kenny will, with the support of the fans, steer the ship with skill and passion as we play 43 more league matches," the owner tweeted last night.

It was certainly a disappointing night. Pompey not only led 3-1 but also faced ten men for much of the second half, before seeing their opponents reduced to nine men for the final 12 minutes after they pulled a goal back.

Michael Rose grabbed the unlikely leveller for the visitors, prompting not only Eisner's message to the fans but also several angry responses which you can see below.
