Blackpool’s highly-rated midfielder Mark Waddington has cancelled his contract with the club, HITC understands.
The 18-year-old has reportedly exercised a clause in his contract which allows him to depart the club with immediate effect.
Waddington has been attracting interest from a number of clubs, with Brighton and Hove Albion reportedly having a bid for the player turned down in January.
The midfielder broke into the first-team last season, making five appearances for the Lancashire club before a broken metatarsal ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
However, he had reportedly grown disillusioned at the club after being forced to train with the reserves following his refusal to sign a new contract at Bloomfield Road.
As well Brighton, Premier League club Stoke City are also interested and will look to sign Waddington, as well as fellow Blackpool academy graduate Dominic Telford, as they look to improve their development squad.
