Huddersfield Town are reportedly set to beat Aston Villa to the signing of Leyton Orient attacker Joshua Koroma, according to TeamTalk.
He was also being tracked by Derby County and Middlesbrough but is set to move to the Premier League side with Rajiv van la Parra having recently moved to Boro.
Koroma, 20, has scored nine goals and assisted seven more in 27 National League appearances so far this season for Justin Edinburgh’s side.
He came through the ranks at the London club, going on to make 85 appearances since making his first-team debut in 2016, scoring 16 goals.
Dean Smith made his first Villa signing this week, bringing in Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic for over £5million from Belgian side Gent.
With just one win in their last six league matches, Villa will be hopeful of getting back to winning ways against Swansea City in the FA Cup this weekend.
This could be a blessing in disguise for Aston Villa.
The reality is that they really do not need any more attacking players. On the wings, they have Yannick Bolaise, Anwar El Ghazi, Jonathan Kodjia and Albert Adomah whilst up front Tammy Abraham, Scott Hogan as well Kodjia are more than good enough.
If Dean Smith is serious about launching a promotion bid, defensive arrivals should be his only priority.
