Iconic Sky Sports football commentator Martin Tyler says that he would love to see Leeds United, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday back in the Premier League.

Sky were hosting a session of #AskTyler in which he was asked if he was looking to see Leeds United back in the Premier League.

"I spent five happy years at Yorkshire Television a long time ago and was treated marvellously as a novice commentator by all the Yorkshire clubs," he told Sky Sports.

"It would be personally very nice to have the chance to visit Leeds or either Sheffield club in the Premier League."

Leeds currently sit in third place in the Championship on 30 points, level with the Blades, and just three points behind table-toppers Norwich City.

A 4-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion before the international break dented the Whites' brilliant start to the season and they will be looking to bounce back against Bristol City this weekend.

The club have been somewhat revolutionised under Marcelo Bielsa, employing a slick passing style of play, which has earned them plenty of plaudits.

Sheffield United currently sit in fourth place and are still well in the hunt for promotion, but local rivals Wednesday are adrift down in 17th.

The Verdict

I think Tyler's thoughts will be shared by plenty of Premier League fans in England.

The top-flight is often lacking a level of intensity from week to week, something that the likes of Leeds, Wednesday and United would all provide.

Talk of promotion is most likely still too early, however, as there is still a long way to go.
