Rio Ferdinand has congratulated Darnell Furlong on his move from Queens Park Rangers to West Bromwich Albion.
The full-back has been an important player for QPR over the past few seasons and scored one goal in 25 Championship appearances for the Hoops last season, as they avoided relegation.
The defender made his professional debut for QPR alongside Ferdinand in a 2-1 defeat to Hull City in the Premier League in 2014/15 and the former Manchester United defender has congratulated his former teammate on his move to West Brom with a message on Twitter.

Furlong becomes West Brom head coach Slaven Bilic’s fourth signing since he took charge at the Hawthorns last month, after Filip Krovinovic, Kenneth Zohore and Semi Ajayi.
The full-back could make his debut for the Baggies against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on the opening day of the 2019/20 season.
I think Furnell could be a good signing for West Brom. He’s a decent defender and has been an important player for QPR over the past few seasons.
He’s already got a decent amount of experience in the Championship with QPR and a top coach like Bilic should be able to help get the best out of him.
On top of that, he can play at right-back or centre-back, which makes him a very useful option for Bilic to have in his squad.
I’m sure Furnell will appreciate this message from a top defender in Ferdinand and I’m sure West Brom fans will also be encouraged by his message that he is a hard-working player.
