Sheffield United have announced some major changes at board level following the end of the transfer window and a successful start to the Championship season.

The club's official website has confirmed that directors Scott and Simon McCabe - sons of co-owner Kevin McCabe - will step down as directors of the Blades and its immediate holding company Blades Leisure Limited.

The two McCabe sons have been replaced on the board with new representatives for the McCabe family, with Stephen Bettis, local Sheffield businessman Martin Green, and financial expert Jeremy Tutton helping things at board level.

In a lengthy statement, Kevin McCabe confirmed the changes has coincided with the club's other co-owner Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud taking on a more prominent role with the club following their promotion to the Championship, with the Prince adding some of his own advisors to the boards of both the club and the Leisure Group.

United had a decent transfer window under manager Chris Wilder and have made a positive start to life in the Championship, winning three of their five games. Wilder will be hoping that the Prince's decision will lead to more funds being made available come the January transfer window.
