Leeds United winger, Jack Clarke has been a long-term transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, although it remains to be seen as to whether the two clubs will strike a deal anytime soon.

According to The Sunday Mirror, Leeds won't accept any bids less than £20m for Clarke, and Spurs have already seen a bid of £10m rejected according to a report from Football.London.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, Phil Hay recently revealed that Spurs are unlikely to match Leeds' valuation of the youngster.

In our latest FLW Six Pointer, we look into this latest update in more detail.

Firstly, is Jack Clarke worth the fee being quoted?

"In today's market, he's worth the price.

"He's a young English talent with real potential, which is obviously going to see Leeds rate him highly.

"I think he's a player that is destined to play in the Premier League, and Spurs need to do everything they can to sign him as soon as possible, otherwise he'll be worth more than that in a few months time."

How good has he been in recent months?

"He's not been at his best, but that's been out of his hands.

"Clarke really impressed me in the first-half of the season, but was ruled out for a number of weeks after being rushed to hospital in their game with Middlesbrough.

"But there's no doubting that on his day, he's a real threat to opposition wingers with his pace and trickery going forward.

"It's no surprise to see him being linked with a move to the Premier League."

Are Spurs likely to test Leeds with a lower bid?

"They'd be foolish not to submit a bid.

"Leeds might value Clarke highly, but Spurs are yet to test them with an official bid for his services.

"If a bid is made, then Clarke will be made aware of that and could voice his intentions to leave the club before the new season gets underway in August.

"If Spurs don't try in the first place, then what's the point in being interested in him?"

How will Clarke be feeling about Leeds' valuation of him?

"He'll be slightly frustrated, which is understandable.

"As a player, you're always going to be striving to reach the top of your game, and Spurs are definitely in a better position than Leeds are on all fronts.

"I'm surprised that he hasn't forced a move to Spurs through yet, but I think that shows that Clarke has respect for the Elland Road faithful who have been full of praise for him since his breakthrough to the first-team."

Where do Spurs go from here?

"They need to follow their interest up with a formal bid.

"Clarke is an exciting player with a bright future ahead of him who can reach the very top in my opinion.

"But Spurs can't afford to be put off by Leeds' asking price, and simply have to make a formal offer to sign him up ahead of next season.

"If they wait around, I wouldn't be surprised to see another club register their interest in signing him."

Could they switch their attentions elsewhere?

"It seems highly unlikely.

"They've had their sights set on Clarke for quite a while now, and I would be very surprised if they weren't to pay the fee that Leeds want for him.

"You have to pay the bigger fees for players with significant potential, and Clarke is certainly a player with a bright future ahead of him."
