One man who is still the subject to a lot of discussions in Championship boardrooms is former Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill.

The striker signed for West Ham in January after scoring eight goals in the first half of the season but has failed to kick on at the London Stadium, making just three Premier League appearances.

With the 26-year-old set to be loaned out or sold this summer, plenty of Championship clubs will be plotting a move for him.

Leeds United are a club who have been linked with bringing Hugill in.

The Whites have struggled massively to complete deals this summer with Chelsea loanees Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman the only men to come in for the season.

They have also missed out on the signings of strikers Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez so are well known to be looking for a striker.

Could Hugill be the answer? Should they push hard to bring him in?

We discuss...

Chris Gallagher

Yes, he's what Bielsa so badly needs.

Leeds need a striker and the target man has proven himself at this level over the years.

Importantly, he'd provide the Whites with a different option and could be the focal point for this Bielsa side.

George Dagless

Without a doubt.

He's a top performer at this level and knows the league very well.

Leeds need to get signing players asap and Hugill would be a class addition.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, he's a player that could add value and right now, that is what they need in abundance.

He's creative too, which would tick one of the many boxes Leeds need to pay attention to before the big kick off.

Jay Taylor

Since his move from Preston, Hugill has struggled to make a mark at West Ham.

The striker was prolific for North End but hasn’t managed to hold down a first team place, only making three appearances for the Hammers in the Premier League.

Leeds should go for the striker as an alternative for Matej Vydra with that deal struggling to move on.

Hugill has suggested he would be happy to stay at West Ham, however, but the opportunity of consistent first-team football could be what makes the striker depart London for Yorkshire.
