Wolves have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and deservedly lead the way with over a third of the season gone.

It was an exciting summer for Wolves fans with Nuno Espirito Santo joining the club along with a host of high-profile signings including Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota.

Fortunately, everyone has settled in extremely well and Santo has his players playing some excellent football in their fluid 3-4-3 formation.

After such a busy summer there has been real competition for places at Molineux. That was demonstrated by the fact the manager regularly made wholesale changes for the Carabao Cup and Wolves still reached the fourth round, beating Southampton along the way.

Even when they went out, Wanderers held free-scoring Manchester City to a 0-0 with basically a reserve side, before losing on penalties.

So, we were wondering if any Wolves player had been underutilised this season?

Here our writers share their thoughts...

Sam Rourke

I'm surprised at the lack of action that Helder Costa is getting.

Yes I know he was injured for a long period of time, but recently he's found himself on the bench more often than not.

Last time out against Fulham, he didn't even come on the pitch.

He's too good to be a benchwarmer!

Alfie Burns

Ruben Vinagre, but it is hard for him to get a break ahead of Barry Douglas.

Vinagre has been very impressive when I have seen him play, but so has Douglas, which is surely giving Nuno a huge selection headache.

Douglas’ suspension this weekend means Vinagre will be handed an opportunity, and it will be interesting to see if he can put in a performance against Reading that earns him a regular start.

Adam Simeoni

You'd have to say Helder Costa, but others are playing much better than the Portuguese.

Costa is a fantastic player whose progress has been halted by injury, but I am confident he will fight his way back into the first team.

If Santo can find a place in the starting XI for him and he finds form, they will be unstoppable.

George Dagless

Alfred N'Diaye.

Another signing I was impressed that Wolves managed to get, the midfielder hasn't played as much as he thought he would have.

Romain Saiss and Ruben Neves have been brilliant in central midfield, of course, but I think over the coming games we'll see some changes.
