There is increasing speculation surrounding the future of Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn, with the Tractorboys reportedly already lining up replacements for him.

The forward had a cracking campaign last year, notching 16 goals and 11 assists for the club, and his form has caught the attention of several second tier outfits.

One club who are in dire need of a new striker are Leeds United.

The Whites have tried but failed to land any of their main targets over the last few weeks, and time is running out with the new season kicking off in just two weeks time.

Is Ipswich's Waghorn someone that Marcelo Bielsa should be targeting? Could he enhance Leeds' frontline?

Leeds should absolutely try to get Martyn Waghorn to Elland Road.

He is a natural goalscorer, and what lacks by way of flair, he more than makes up for in pace and strength.

Although Waghorn isn't the tallest he isn’t too bad in the air either, considering his height.

The Ipswich forward is a powerhouse forward that would give Leeds a different dimension.

Waghorn scored 16 goals in 47 appearances and also managed 11 assists for The Tractor Boys last season and averaged 2.4 hots per game.

At 28-years-old he is at the peak of his career, and it would be crazy if Leeds didn’t have him on their radar.

Usually I would have said no, but they do need someone to play up front and time is ticking away.

Waghorn is a decent striker, but is he the man to fire them to the top six? he's better than nothing but it would underwhelm Leeds fans.

Jay Williams

Without a doubt - He's the signing Bielsa needs.

After failing to land other targets, Waghorn could the prolific striker they need up top.

The former Rangers man weighed in with goals and assists in abundance and he could play in any of the four most advanced roles in Bielsa's system.
