Derby County veteran defender Richard Keogh has been a regular for manager Frank Lampard this season, with 40 appearances in all competitions, a feet that has resulted in him achieving the landmark total of 600 career appearances in the 2-1 win over Wigan last week.

But as Lampard looks to take his side to the next level, he will need to decide if the older players in his squad have what it takes to make that step.

So looking ahead to the summer, should Lampard be looking to replace Keogh?

We discuss…..

Jacob Potter

“He’s surely got to go.

“Keogh is a solid enough option to have in the Championship, but I can’t see what he brings to this Derby side.

“Derby need to plan for the long-term future, and Keogh doesn’t feature in that in my opinion.”

Gary Hutchinson

“He should have done it last summer.

“Keogh has been a decent player, but he’s a relic.

“He’s slowing down and has cost them goals.

“Replacing him is a must.”

Jay Taylor

“I would drive him out of Derby myself!

“I think Keogh is a dreadful footballer with the odd worldie performance in him.

“I think he has flattered to deceive at Championship level for years and I have never understood the acclaim he receives.

“Derby would be making the best decision in recent memory if they longed him off in the summer and replaced him with someone infinitely more talented.”
