West Ham United are yet another Premier League side to be linked with versatile Middlesbrough wing-back Isaiah Jones this week.

The latest link comes from The Athletic, who claim that the 22-year-old is on the radar of the club.

That update comes after 90MIN claimed recently that Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were all monitoring Jones ahead of the summer.

With the West Ham links in mind, we asked some of our writers here at FLW for their thoughts on Jones potentially heading to the London Stadium.

Adam Jones

Following a promising breakthrough season at the Riverside, he would probably benefit from having one more season in a familiar setting to build on that and make himself ready for the Premier League.

Boro will be a strong contender to win promotion next season anyway, so he would benefit from having another campaign under Chris Wilder where he knows he will be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

However, if he was to make a move elsewhere, he would be better served at West Ham as opposed to Manchester United - because he could play a more important part at the London Stadium.

The Hammers are in need of more forwards - but they also require players who can provide new additions with adequate services and with Jones recording nine assists during the 2021/22 campaign.

And at 22, he has plenty of time to improve.

Jones would be a great addition to the West Ham side, who could use the strengthening in midfield.

The Hammers suffered a lot last season with a lack of squad depth, but Jones would really add a lot to David Moyes’ options.

He is also still quite young and has room to improve his game to adapt for the Premier League standard.

This would be a big loss to Middlesbrough, but could be a great next step for the 22-year old in his career.

This would be a good signing on the whole. Isaiah Jones showed his talent this season as a core part of the Middlesbrough team as he made 42 Championship appearances, scoring once and assisting nine times.

He definitely has the ability to do a strong job in the Premier League and deserves the chance to prove his talents in that league.

Whether he would be a starting player in the West Ham lineup or not is yet to be seen but you feel as though Moyes would definitely give him suitable chances to prove himself.

Furthermore, the winger is someone who will be eager take his chance when given it and in doing so could work his way further into the side.

At only 22-years-old, he's showed plenty of potential and could grow his talents even further at West Ham.
