Bristol City have enjoyed a solid start to the season currently sitting in eighth place just four points off the leaders Leeds United.

This is despite a loss of form recently for the team and Austrian striker Andi Weimann who has been a regular for manager Lee Johnson so far this season.

On the back of two straight defeats against West Brom and Wigan both club and player will be hoping to re-discover their early season form when they entertain Aston Villa on Friday night.

So what can explain Weimann's loss of form?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

He’s reverting to type.

He was never that prolific at Derby, was he?

I was surprised when he moved there. I don’t think he’s a 20-goal a season man.

Jay Taylor

It might be the relentless pace he plays the game, it is hard to keep up throughout the whole season and this could be a calm before another storm.

With that, you have a Bristol City team not creating that much at present and if the supply isn’t there, then the attacker isn’t going to get many goals.

Once that improves and Weimann is a little more recharged then he will be firing on all cylinders again.

Louie Chandler

Nothing.

Players go through peaks and troughs in every season and I am sure that Lee Johnson will have him firing again soon.
