Ipswich Town are one of the main contenders for the League One play-off places this term, with the Tractor Boys having strengthened their squad with a host of experienced names this summer ahead of a promotion charge.

One of the key segments of their recruitment drive was the signature of former Forest Green Rovers striker James Norwood, with the 29-year-old having completed a move to East Anglia this summer from Tranmere Rovers after enjoying a prolific spell with the Prenton Park outfit.

The League One side have been searching for a goalscorer to lead the line ever since Daryl Murphy departed the club back in 2016, with the Irishman having netted over 60 goals during his time with the former UEFA Cup winners.

Given Norwood's mixed start to the campaign, we felt now was a good time for Football League World Journalist Chris Thorpe to ask members of the Ipswich Town FC Forum on Facebook if they would swap James Norwood for an in-form Daryl Murphy, thus yielding several responses from the club's supporters.

Here, we take a look at some of the best comments in response to the question from the Portman Road faithful.

Ben Webb: Swap Keane for Daryl Murphy, easy!

Brad Butcher: Nope, he’s past it.

Andrew Rowe: No, as I have always thought both of these two would've made a great partnership.

Scott Blowers: The way I felt Saturday I'd have swapped the lot of them for a pack of biscuits.

James Dale: I would have signed Murphy to play with Norwood.

Bert Bassy Bass: Yes.

Del Ayers: Yes anyday.

Steen Rozier: No way.

Richard Lee: Anyone will do as long as they know how to score!

Jay Hood: Yep no problem.
