Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw against Reading in extraordinary fashion on Saturday afternoon.

It was always going to be a tough test for Forest as they prepared to come up against the most in-form in the division at the Madejski Stadium.

The Royals went into the clash on the back of four straight victories, with the Reds winning their last three games too, so it was hard to separate the two sides heading into it.

Forest would have surely thought that they had won the game in the dying embers, though, with Ben Watson converting in the 96th minute of the encounter.

But Sabri Lamouchi's side were unable to hold onto an invaluable three points - only 30 seconds later, Reading went and grabbed an equaliser courtesy of a Tobias Figueiredo own-goal.

Before the game, Forest were left worried and concerned, when it was announced that Joao Carvalho had failed to make the matchday squad.

The Portuguese playmaker's future at the City Ground is up in the air at the moment, having been linked with moves to Olympiacos and Trabzonspor.

After the game, Lamouchi admitted that it was simply his "choice" to leave him out of the squad, amid reports linking him with a City Ground exit.
