Liverpool would be the perfect home for Che Adams, if he were to move to the Premier League giant in the summer, according to former Birmingham defender Michael Johnson.

The defender was speaking to the Express about the 22-year-old who has been linked with a move to the pair of Premier League powerhouses.

Adams has 21 Championship goals after his brace at the weekend over Blackburn Rovers, becoming the first Blues striker in over two decades to register 20 league goals.

The way in which Jurgen Klopp sets up his team, Johnson is assured in his belief that the striker could make the grade at Anfield if the current leaders of England’s top flight pursue a move in the summer.

But would Adams make it as a striker at the famous Merseyside outfit if he were to move there in the summer?

We asked our team of FLW writers their thoughts on Johnson’s comments and a potential move to Liverpool.

Here’s what they had to say on the matter.

Gary Hutchinson

“No, he’s not right.

“Adams should be moving to a side that will give him game time.

“Not in late group stage games or the EFL Cup either.

“He won’t get that at Liverpool.”

George Harbey

“I don’t think he’s right at all.

“Where would he fit in? He’s never going to get in ahead of Salah, Firmino and Mane, and they also have Sturridge for back-up.

“They still have Harry Wilson out on loan, who isn’t going to get a look-in for the time being.”

Jacob Potter

“He wouldn't fit in there.

“He isn't going to be an upgrade on what Liverpool currently have, and I can't see him forcing his way into the starting XI anytime soon.

“I couldn't disagree with him more here.”
