With Aston Villa's current financial crisis showing no signs of ending any time soon, a large focus of their transfer window remains on offloading high earners.

One player they are keen to sell is Jonathan Kodjia.

After arriving from Bristol City two years ago off the back of an impressive Championship debut, Kodjia never managed to impress at Villa Park.

Blighted by injuries he only managed 15 league appearances and just one goal.

But in the two seasons before he scored 18 goals and 19 goals in the Championship alone meaning he remains a very attractive prospect.

Two clubs who have reportedly shown an interest in the Ivorian are Leeds United and Newcastle United.

Both clubs are keen to bring in a new striker this summer and with Kodjia all set to leave Villa Park it could turn into a race for his signature.

But where would he fit in more?

We discuss...

Gary Hutchinson

Leeds. He's not Premier League quality in my opinion, certainly not after his injury struggles last season.

A move to the top flight now could kill his career.

George Dagless

He'd fit in with both I think.

He may have had fitness issues but he's an out and out number 9 and could do the lone striker role that both sides will look to employ next season.

Arguably, he'd fit in more at Leeds simply because he knows the Championship and not the Premier League.

Alfie Burns

I don’t think he’d get much football at Newcastle, so I’d have to say Leeds.

Kodjia has the potential to excel at Elland Road as Leeds’ midfield would create him plenty of chances.

If he can stay fit, he’d be a 20 goal striker at Elland Road.

Chris Gallagher

Leeds, easily.

After his injuries there has to be doubts about his ability to play in the Premier League. However, he's proven himself at Championship level over the years and would add a lot to the Whites squad.

Jay Williams

I think he would fit in better at Leeds as a central striker. Bielsa is missing the man he needs to spearhead their attack and a strong, powerful forward like Kodjia is ideal.

At Newcastle, I could see the Ivorian being third or fourth choice and not really getting much of a first-team run.
