Arsenal are reportedly rivalling Chelsea for Brentford winger, Said Benrahma, according to French media outlet, Le Buteur.
They claim that the Gunners are one of the sides monitoring his progress, after an impressive debut season in English football.
Benrahma only signed for the Bees in the summer of 2018, but has made a significant contribution in his first season with the play-off chasing Bees.
He has seven goals and 11 assists in their league campaign so far, and he’ll be confident of adding to that tally as the season progresses.
It remains to be seen as to whether a formal bid will be submitted by Arsenal for the Algerian, but he’ll be wanting to perform to a high standard for the remainder of the season, to prove to Unai Emery what he can offer going forward.
But would Benrahma be a good signing for Arsenal?
“In terms of style, technique and ability, I could see him at Arsenal.
“I didn’t like his strop after being taken off a fortnight ago though.
“He’s been shown a lot of loyalty after an average start to his Griffin Park career.
“He’s nowhere near mature enough for a big move yet.”
“I think this would be a good signing.
“His skillset complements what the Gunners currently have and I think he could become an effective player at the Emirates.
“Maybe not a starter week in and week out but it would give him something to build up to as he certainly has the talent to succeed there.”
“He’s not good enough.
“There’s no doubting that at Championship level, he is an excellent player to have, but he isn’t cut out for the Premier League yet.
“Arsenal will surely find a better alternative in the summer?”
