Steve Bruce is set to take over the managerial reigns at Sheffield Wednesday this week, with the Owls in 16th place in the table, having taken seven points from a possible nine in their last three games over the Christmas period.

Owls owner Dejhon Chansiri has indicated he will make funds available to purchase three players in the January transfer window and believes that a play-off place is still within their grasp under Bruce, according to a report in the Sun on Sunday (30 December, Page 57).

So is Chansiri right to believe the Owls can get promoted?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

He's lost his mind.

It's mathematically possible, nobody is doubting the maths here, but Hillsborough is currently a circus and there will be no success there until it is sorted.

Chansiri is the main culprit in that circus as well.

Jacob Potter

He’s having a laugh.

Sheffield Wednesday might be on a good run of form but they are miles off what is needed to finish in the top six this season.

Unless Chansiri is to invest a serious amount of money in January (which is highly unlikely), then it seems highly unlikely that they will be promoted this season.

George Harbey

I think he’s brave saying this, but it is possible.

They are still 11 points off the top six, but if they keep picking up some valuable points and maybe string a run of wins together, then who knows?

The Championship is so tight this year.

Alfie Burns

Bold. They should be focusing on staying in the division first.

It looks like they will and they’re undoubtedly on the rise again, but that’s too naive from the owner.

He needs to focus on building something.
