Birmingham City have been without Premier League football since 2011, and have started this campaign off without a win in the opening five Championship fixtures.

Garry Monk, who took over as manager of the Blues in March this year, was somewhat cautious in this summer’s transfer window.

The 39-year-old head coach only bought in a small number of new arrivals to the club, with many asking for a complete overhaul of players at St Andrews.

Birmingham City have had a number of managerial changes in the last three years, with the likes of Rowett, Zola, Redknapp and Monk all taking charge of the Blues, to name a few.

All head coaches that have managed at St Andrew's in recent years have attempted to bring not just their own style of play to the club, but also made acquisitions that they felt would help strengthen the squad, with some working out better than others.

We discuss the worst Birmingham City signing from the last three years.

Christian Fuller

This summer’s loan arrival of Gary Gardner.

Whilst the midfielder may slightly improve the Blues squad, the tension caused between the two rival sides is unneeded.

Gardner, who has had countless loan spells away from Villa Park, seems like somewhat of an unnecessary addition to Garry Monk’s side this summer.

Alfie Burns

Jason Lowe was a strange addition at St Andrew’s as the midfielder arrived with a decent reputation, but passed through the club without any impact.

The midfielder made 11 appearances for the Blues and is now with Bolton Wanderers across the Championship.

Chris Gallagher

I'm going to say Lee Camp even though he's only just joined.

Not in terms of value for money as they got him on a free, but purely because he's just not good enough.

He's already cost them goals in his few games at the club and quite why Monk signed him after his performances for Sunderland last season is a mystery.
