Derby County manager Frank Lampard needs to rally his troops ahead of their play-off semi-final second leg, having suffered a 1-0 defeat to Leeds United at Pride Park at the weekend.

With limited time between the ties there is only so much Lampard can do in the time available for him, but a change of personnel could be on the cards after striker Dave Nugent failed to make an impact in the defeat at the weekend.

Squad availability may ultimately force his hand but if he has options, should Lampard look to drop Nugent for the second leg?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"It may depend on availability of others, but if Lampard has the options I can't see Nugent starting.

"The striker struggled to make much of an impact on the game, with very few chances coming his way. He also struggled to be the target man for Wilson; Lawrence and co. to play off in the way they have done with Waghorn recently.

"Derby need to change something to get back into the tie, and this could be it."

Gary Hutchinson

“He's got to drop him.

“His inclusion demonstrates to me that Derby have gone backwards in a year, not forwards.

“He was surplus under Rowett and to find him featuring at this stage is not something Rams fans should be happy with.”

George Brooks

"I think so. His performance in the first leg against Leeds was very disappointing.

"The veteran striker really struggled to make an impact and was withdrawn in the second half.

"Lampard probably wouldn’t have chosen to start him had Waghorn not been injured and perhaps he should give Jack Marriott or Mason Bennett a chance in the second leg."
