Aston Villa loanee Tammy Abraham took another step in writing his name into the Villans' history books with the penalty kick that won the Championship play-off semi-final against West Brom, via a penalty shoot-out, to book a place at Wembley to face Derby County at the end of the month.

It has capped an outstanding loan spell at Villa Park for the 21-year-old Chelsea striker, who has previously spent spells out on loan at Bristol City and Swansea.

So on the back of a successful time at Villa, should Chelsea make Abraham a firm fixture in their starting XI next season?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"Hard to say.

"He's had a great season but did at Bristol City and then had a few issues at Swansea - granted it was tough to shine that season with them.

"He'll get more chances thanks to those around him in the Chelsea side but he has to show he's a top-six player quickly if he's to nail a place down - it's a big few months for him."

George Brooks

"I think so.

"Abraham has had an outstanding season for Aston Villa in the Championship and deserves a chance to prove himself for Chelsea in the Premier League.

"Whether he will be given that chance remains to be seen, but Chelsea will be unable to sign players for the next two transfer windows, so perhaps this could be Abraham’s opportunity to make an impact at Stamford Bridge."

Gary Hutchinson

“I think he should be in their squad on a match day.

“Is he ready to take the pressure of a Chelsea starting place?

“Maybe. They’ve got an aging forward line and he’s proven himself to be vibrant and exciting.

“He’s got to be given a shot.”
