Ipswich Town are having another busy summer as Kieran McKenna looks to build his squad ahead of another promotion push in League One

Among the new arrivals at Portman Road so far is Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules, who has joined on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old impressed in a spell at Doncaster Rovers in 2020/21 but found things difficult at first Blackpool and then Sheffield Wednesday last term – making just 12 appearances all season and failing to find the net once.

The move to Portman Road will give him a fresh start, however, and the chance to work under a respected coach in McKenna.

John-Jules been backed to come good at the East Anglian club this season by Ipswich fan pundit Henry (PheonixTalks07).

"Tyreece John-Jules signing on loan from Arsenal I think is an exciting bit of business," he said.

"He looks like a McKenna and sounds like one. He's quick, pacey, athletic, can run the channels, good off both feet so technically strong, wants to link up play, wants to score goals, and seems hungry for it as well.

"He's got something to prove in League One. He was good at Doncaster. Went to Blackpool and wasn't as strong. Went to Sheffield Wednesday and didn't really get a chance.

"He's been a bit unfortunate with injuries so I really think this could be the season we see Tyreece John-Jules come to fruition.

"Arsenal speak very highly of him, Mikel Arteta brought him into the fold last pre-season so I think they think highly of him.

"I think he just needs a bit of luck with injuries and then I think we'll see the best of him.

"Good signing."
