Former Leeds United defender Alex Bruce has offered his verdict on Leeds' transfer pursuit of Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a target for Marcelo Bielsa's side with the striker currently enjoying a fruitful spell on loan at Steve Cooper's Swansea City.

Brewster has been an ever-present figure for the south Wales side this season, notching four goals in 10 appearances since arriving from Anfield.

It's suggested that the Reds may offload Brewster on loan again next season in a bid to enhance his development, with Leeds firmly in the race.

Former Whites player Alex Bruce has offered his view on the potential transfer, suggesting to Football Insider that it would be a beneficial deal for the Yorkshire side.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bruce said: “He’s definitely someone I would be looking at because they need goals.

“Signing someone like him is definitely something that would tickle any club in my opinion. He’s young, he’s hungry, he’s done alright at Swansea, he’s got big potential.

“Those are the sort of players they should be looking at.”

The verdict

Brewster is undoubtedly a very exciting prospect that has performed well since arriving at Swansea.

Though, if Leeds do achieve promotion to the Premier League you do wonder if the Liverpool man is someone they should go for, considering his lack of top-flight experience.

If they remain in the EFL, Brewster would be a shrewd capture and would offer a different dimension within the Whites' attack.
