Viktor Gyokeres was given an extended opportunity to impress at Coventry City when he penned a permanent deal in the summer.
The Sweden international spent the second half of last season on loan with the club, scoring three goals in 19 games to help them stay up in their first season back in the Championship.
As Mark Robins looked to strengthen his side and build on last season’s 16th placed finish, Gyokeres arrived on a three-year deal from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Gyokeres made a positive impression on Coventry fans last term, in a campaign where they had to watch his performances for the Sky Blues from afar.
But upon their return to grounds, not many would have expected him to be in this sort of goalscoring form this time around…
Reminds me very much of a young Jutkiewicz. I’m thrilled with this signing. Walker, Godden, Waghorn and Viktor! Now we need to match that up at CB Mcfadzean and Hyam and need to add 2 more as Pask and Drysdale are not at the level

I think this is a great signing. I like what we saw last year and he’s going to get better and better!

Great signing to get him on a permanent deal. I was very impressed with him last season.

The Sky Blues currently sit third in the Championship, level on points with West Brom in second and only three points off league leaders Bournemouth.
Gyokeres has been influential, scoring nine goals in 11 games to help Coventry mount an early push for promotion.
The 23-year-old has netted seven goals in his last six games, including braces in the wins over Peterborough United and Fulham.
Coventry have won each of their six home games this term, and it has certainly been a case of ‘home sweet home’ for the returning striker so far this campaign.
Those fans who predicted more to come from Gyokeres certainly haven’t been proved wrong…
