Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will be looking at all avenues open to him as he looks to strengthen his Villa squad, and get his side challenging the top spots in the Championship.

Though the free market is available now for a quick fix, it will be in January when Smith can make his move for permanent and loan players with versatile Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu, a potential target.

But would Ampadu get straight into the Villa XI if he joined?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

With their current midfield, I highly doubt he would command a first-team place.

He would be a good substitute to come on late on and offer something but I wouldn’t see him starting each and every game.

A move to Villa jus does not make sense to me in all honesty and I think there would be better-suited clubs out there for him.

Gary Hutchinson

I’ve seen this lad in the flesh and as far as I’m concerned, he’s going to be world class.

His reading of the game is unreal. He’s quick, strong and can be whatever he wants to be.

He’d get into the first XI of most of the Premier League sides, so he would have a big impression to make at Villa.

Sam Rourke

I think he would.

Villa's defence needs reinforcements and Ampadu would be a fantastic addition to the side.

He's got all the qualities to flourish in the Championship, and you feel Dean Smith would be an excellent mentor for him as he progresses.
