Nottingham Forest travel to Bolton tomorrow night looking to get back to winning ways following defeat to Norwich at the weekend, with manager Aitor Karanka looking how to get the best out of his inflated squad.

A player who has fallen out of favour with Karanka is 20-year-old midfielder Ryan Yates who is yet to appear for Forest at all this season.

So should Karanka be looking to offload Yates on loan in January?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

For him to reach his potential, he needs a loan move in January.

Yates is yet to feature for Karanka’s side and he will be looking for regular first-team football elsewhere and having not made a league start for Nottingham Forest this season, the move makes sense for Aitor Karanka.

At the age of 20, Yates still has a considerable amount of potential and he will be keen to build on that with regular football.

George Dagless

For the player's sake yes.

He's good enough to be playing regularly for a decent side and that is how he is going to progress.

He's not playing at Forest and needs to think about a loan.

Jay Taylor

He isn’t playing - and probably won’t.

So you would have to imagine that, yes, he would see it as a necessity to offload Ryan Yates.

After their summer spending spree, his place at Nottingham Forest has become non-existent and having not sent him out on loan during the summer, the time to offload will be January.

Gary Hutchinson

Not from Forest’s angle no, but for Yates, yes.

He’s going to be a top player, but he won’t reach his potential sat in their reserves.

He must go out on loan, or permanently, and forge a reputation for himself.
