‘He’s free,’ ‘Good to see’ – Many Birmingham City fans react to exciting inclusion in line-up v Millwall

Two strong defensive units take each other on at St. Andrews today as Birmingham City host Millwall.

Four points separate the two teams in the Championship table, and the visitors are draw specialists in recent weeks, notching four of those in a row.

The Blues meanwhile haven’t won in five games and haven’t been the most creative or prolific in-front of the opposition goal at all.

That could be about to change though with the recent acquisition of Croatian midfielder Alen Halilovic – once on the books of Barcelona and A.C. Milan.

Birmingham fans were keen to see him thrown straight in there due to the fact that there’s not many creative sparks in the squad, but he seemingly didn’t receive international clearance in time.

Despite no Halilovic in the squad, Jonathan Leko has returned to the starting 11, supporting Lukas Jutkiewicz in attack.

There’s understandable disappointment that Halilovic isn’t available yet, but the reaction on Twitter to Leko’s inclusion has brought delight from Birmingham fans, but Karanka’s decision to play five defenders hasn’t been too favourable.
