QPR are in a transfer tussle with Nottingham Forest to the potential signing of Wigan Athletic's Gavin Massey according to The Daily Mail.

Both clubs have registered their interest in signing Massey with his contract due to expire at the end of this season.

He has been in impressive form recently and netted twice in his last four matches, including in their comfortable win over Bolton at the weekend.

It is understood that Massey's ideal scenario would be to stay with Wigan, especially if they are to retain their Championship status this season.

QPR will fancy their chances of signing him though, as the prospect of playing at a more reputable club is going to be more tempting than fighting to stay up with Wigan.

Steve McClaren's side have struggled in recent weeks, and have been on a slide down the table and could certainly benefit from signing a player of his quality.

But would Massey be a good signing for QPR if he joined McClaren's men?

We discuss....

Jay Taylor:

"This has the potential to be a decent signing for QPR.

"Massey is available on a free transfer in the summer so it won't break the bank.

"He has been impressive at times this season for Wigan despite their current plight.

"The London club need an injection of pace and inventiveness, and this could well be what is needed."

Jacob Potter:

"A smart bit of business.

"Massey has impressed me in recent weeks and I certainly think he could make the step up to QPR if he signed for them.

"He offers pace going forward, which is something that McClaren's side have lacked for the majority of this season.

"He's exactly what they need."

Gary Hutchinson:

"Perfect for QPR.

"Comfortable with the level of football, but with a bigger club.

"QPR could challenge the top six, with the right signings.

"Massey would add the creativity they need from wide areas."

George Harbey:

"I think he'd be a good signing for the R's.

"He offers real pace and end product down the flanks and would be the perfect replacement for Luke Freeman if he leaves.

"On a potential free transfer, he'd be a bargain."
