It seems as though we have only just closed the lid on last season, before Leeds United players report back to the club next Monday to commence pre-season, under the watchful eye of manager Marcelo Bielsa, as he begins his second season in charge at Elland Road.

Though his squad will be back in training, Bielsa is still heavily involved in recruiting new players needed to strengthen his squad, with Wolves winger Helder Costa his number one target, according to a report in the YEP.

So is Costa, who was a key part of Wolves' promotion to the Premier League in 2018, be the answer to Leeds United's problems?

We discuss........

George Brooks

"Costa is a fantastic player and he'd be an excellent signing for Leeds.

"Marcelo Bielsa is looking to add more width and creativity to his side and Costa would be able to provide that.

"The Portuguese winger is a skillful and exciting player, but he's also not afraid to get stuck in. He's quick, direct and will both create changes and score goals.

"He's exactly what Leeds need and Bielsa should make signing him a priority this summer.

"He's got plenty of experience in the Championship, and his experience of winning the title with Wolves two seasons ago will be vital for a team expected to challenge for the top two this season.

Kealan Hughes

“Costa should be their main target. He was brilliant in the Championship for Wolves and would bring a touch of class to the Leeds attack.

“It is no secret that Leeds are on the search for a right winger and are starting to run out of options. Signing Costa would allow Pablo Hernandez to play in the no.10 role, which would also be of huge benefit to Leeds.

“Costa is the perfect solution to their problem position. He scores goals and creates, and is blistering on the counter attack. If he was the sign Leeds fans would start to get very excited about the new season, and rightly so.”

Gary Hutchinson

“The answer to all their problems? No, I don’t think that’s the case.

“They have problems that run deeper than a simple winger. For instance, they need a new centre back, possibly another central midfielder and a keeper too.

“Is he the answer to the issue they have on the wing? Possibly so. He’s got plenty of experience with Wolves so he understands the English game, which is a worry for me when a player comes over here from a warmer climate

“I think Leeds will need two wingers, so he would be a start. Pablo Hernandez won’t last forever and they’ve got to think of a contingency there, as well as simply looking to this season.”
