Bristol City travel to Hull City tomorrow night in the Championship, with manager Lee Johnson hoping his side can record back to back wins following victory over Brentford at the weekend.

The Robins currently sit in 10th place in the league after a solid start to the season, with Johnson selecting 33-year-old Finnish keeper Niki Maenpaa as his first choice stopper.

But following an injury to Maenpaa that is likely to keep him out for up to five weeks, Johnson will be pleased that young goal-keeper Max O'Leary stepped in at the weekend and kept a clean sheet against fancied Brentford.

But has O'Leary staked his claim for the Robins No1 jersey?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

He has certainly staked his claim for a starting spot in the Bristol City side.

After starting at the weekend against high-flying Brentford, O’Leary surprisingly kept a clean sheet in his first league start for the club.

In the absence of Niki Maenpaa, he should certainly be considered as first-choice goalkeeper at Ashton Gate.

George Dagless

He's done a great job.

A clean sheet and some decent saves against Brentford is certainly a good way of making your claim.

I'd not be surprised to see him stay in the side this week.

Jay Taylor

After securing a clean sheet on his debut, Max O’Leary certainly has what it takes to be a mainstay in the Bristol City goal.

With injuries to current keepers, his performance did him no harm and will look to maintain that form further into the season as he looks to keep the shirt and become an integral part in Lee Johnson’s side.

Gary Hutchinson

I think so.

It’s a good story too, he’s been out on loan in the National League and fought hard for his chance.

That’s Bristol City though isn’t it? Giving chances to younger players and reaping the rewards.

Wouldn’t hurt a few other Championship clubs to do the same.
