Football League World's Luton Town fan pundit Dylan Bhundia has given his assessment of Simon Sluga's start to life at the club since his high profile move from Croatian top flight side HNK Rijeka, with the club spending a record fee on the 26-year-old goalkeeper.

Sluga has so far failed to live up to the weight of his transfer fee, with the 26-year-old Croatian shotstopper having yet to have kept a clean sheet in his first eleven games for the Hatters this season, causing sections of the Kenilworth faithful to question the goalkeeper's credibility in recent weeks.

We decided to ask Bhundia for his opinion on how Sluga has settled into life at Kenilworth Road, and the Luton Town fan pundit was pretty damning in his assessment, as he responded:

"`he’s cost us too many points already this season which is massive considering how tough the Championship is.

"I’ve been willing to back him given how much of a change moving from playing in Croatia to the Championship is, but after the two howlers against Derby, both coming at times where we looked in the ascendancey,  he needs to be dropped.

"It’s demoralizing and unfair on the rest of the team who are playing so well."

Bhundia was then asked if he thought the Croatian's high price tag could be used as an excuse, to which he replied:

"I don’t think so.

"Yes, he’s our club record signing but I don’t think the price tag has been the reason behind his poor performances.

"I think it’s the fact that he’s hasn’t settled properly.

"The early mistakes he made against Middlesbrough and Cardiff, whilst settling, will have massively damaged his confidence and have inevitably led to more mistakes."

Lastly, Bhundia was asked if he believed Town's other keeper James Shea should be starting ahead of Sluga, to which he responded:

"Right now, yes.

"He needs to be taken out of the firing line for the time being as he’s clearly at rock bottom in terms of confidence.

"There’s clearly a good goalkeeper in there somewhere, we just haven't seen it yet."

Luton Town fans, as well as Hatters boss Graeme Jones, will definitely be hoping that Sluga proves to be worth the price tag, otherwise they could be in for a long season, with the Bedfordshire based side already occupying 18th place in the Championship table after eleven games played.
