Aston Villa were moments away from taking all three points on Friday night when a Jay Rodriguez equaliser in stoppage time, was enough for promotion rivals West Brom to take a share of the points in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Villa led 2-1 after two goals from winger Anwar El Ghazi had put them in the driving seat, the goals took the 23-year-old Dutchman to four goals and one assist in the eight appearances he has made for Villa this season, following his arrival back in August.

So is El Ghazi starting to silence his critics?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

He’s certainly silencing his critics.

Understandably, El Ghazi received criticism after struggling to adjust to life in the Championship, but he is showing glimpses of his quality.

If he can be given a run in the team over the festive period, then he could pick up some form and would be a crucial member of the Villa squad as they push for promotion this season.

Alfie Burns

Definitely – he’s looked superb in recent weeks.

Whatever Dean Smith has said to him seems to be working and he looks a real threat.

He adds another frightening option to Villa’s already impressive attack.

Gary Hutchinson

Was there critics? I hadn’t heard them.

He’s a top player with no business in the Championship.

He’ll be key for Villa going forward and will have a big say for the Villans in their race for promotion.
