Queens Park Rangers have had a strange season that has seen them climb the table to be considered as promotion outsiders.

The Hoops had a dreadful start to the campaign and many saw them as relegation certs, but Steve McClaren has turned around their fortunes to lead the club to the top half of the table, peaking at a high of seventh.

There have been many good players during that time, from the defence to the attack, but who has been QPR's best player so far this season?

We discuss…

Louie Chandler

“Toni Leistner for me.

“The German has been absolutely crucial at the back for Steve McClaren's side and it is that defence that has been the backbone of QPR's success.

“Considering it is his first season in English football as well, it makes it all the more impressive.”

Gary Hutchinson

“They’ve been a solid unit and have surprised a lot of people, mainly thanks to that injection of fresh blood.

“It’s a player who has been there a while I’m plumping for though - Luke Freeman.

“He’s such a talented boy, confident on the ball and able to bring others into play.

“He’s been vital.”

Alfie Burns

“The talents of Eberechi Eze are hard to overlook, but I’ll go for a defender in Toni Leistner.

“After such a torrid first month of the season defensively, QPR’s turnaround has been superb and it has been built on some good defensive performances.

“Leistner deserves credit for how he’s led his side to mid-table.”
