Stoke City's season continues to falter despite the arrival of Nathan Jones as manager, with the Potters down in 17th place in the Championship, 13 points off the play-off places and 11 points above the relegation zone.

For former Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen it has been a mixed season, with six goals and four assists in his 33 appearances this season, he has failed to make a major impact since dropping down from the Premier League.

So, is it fair to say Allen has underwhelmed in the Championship this season?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

“Yes, but he’s in a struggling side.

“Stoke have been dreadful to watch this year and games have just passed them by.

“Allen hasn’t covered himself in glory, but who has at the bet365?”

Gary Hutchinson

“Absolutely.

“I expected that Stoke midfield to dominate this division. Him and Woods should be dictating play and serving up chances for Afobe.

“Instead it’s all a bit flat at the bet365 Stadium.

“They need more next season, not just from Allen.”

George Harbey

"I think the whole of the Stoke squad has underwhelmed this season.

"I personally thought they’d go straight up as champions, after keeping so many talented players after relegation last season, as well as spending big on some quality players for this level in the summer.

"But it’s a case of too many individuals - they haven’t played as a team."

Jay Taylor

“He’s been surprisingly poor.

“Tipped to be one of the best players in the division this term, he has offered little, if anything, on a consistent basis.

“In the Premier League he was constantly praised, but he has been unable to replicate that form in the second tier, for whatever reason.

“Stoke fans should feel let down at his performances this term.”

Jacob Potter

"He’s been part of a squad that has been poor all season.

"Allen hasn’t been one of Stoke’s worst players this season, but he hasn’t been the best by a long shot.

"As an experienced member of that team, he needs to step and perform to a high standard for Stoke for the remainder of this year’s campaign."
