Nottingham Forest picked up only their second win this week, in what has been a stuttering start to the season under manager Aitor Karanka.

With a huge squad to work with, Karanka has seemed to struggle to find a winning combination but one player who seems to have secured a regular berth in the side is 21-year-old midfielder Matty Cash.

Our team give their thoughts of Cash's season so far.

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

He’s been a functional part of an inconsistent side.

It is hard to judge Forest players too much because of the chopping and changing, but when Cash has played he’s been impressive.

He’s got a couple of goals and has imposed himself well for a young player.

There’s more to come here.

George Dagless

He's been fantastic.

Arguably, he's been Forest's best player as they have looked to click.

He could have fallen down the pecking order with all the new signings but under Karanka he has shone and that has continued this year.

Jay Taylor

A goal every other game, on average, in all competitions, sums it up really.

Cash shot to prominence this season with his last minute goal against Bury in the EFL Cup which he repeated in the next round against Newcastle United.

Since then he has been a regular in the league and is starting more and more.

He is showing form that is keeping new signings out of the team after 16 were signed.

So far, so good for the 21-year-old.
