West Brom continue to perform well under Darren Moore in the Championship, with the league's top goal-scorers sitting in fourth spot, just three points off leaders Norwich City.

At the back though, though not the tightest defence in the league, Moore has certainly built a solid foundation to allow his attacking players to flourish, with 27-year-old Ahmed Hegazi a regular at centre-back.

But how crucial is Hegazi to West Brom's promotion ambitions?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

He is one of the main reasons they are where they are.

And Ahmed Hegazi has a reliable partner in Craig Dawson next to him.

Fair enough the pair were way below par last term in the Premier League, but they have found their stride and are forming a robust partnership at the back.

Hegazi’s goal in midweek highlights his recent performances and how important he is to Darren Moore’s West Brom side.

Gary Hutchinson

Now he is in form, very crucial.

He’s been a slow burner this season, gradually growing in confidence and stature but now he seems to have finally blossomed.

WBA need to shore up at the back and he’s going to help them do that.

George Harbey

He’s massive to their promotion hopes.

He had a shaky start to the season but has turned it around and is now showing the quality he really has.

He has forged a good partnership with Craig Dawson and long may it continue.
