West Brom manager Darren Moore must be pleased that he seems to have put to bed the possibility of defender Craig Dawson leaving the club after the 28-year-old, who has been a regular for Moore this season, was reported as wanting to leave the Hawthorns and being a target for both Burnley and Brighton.

Dawson 28, had signed a new three-year deal at the Baggies back in August 2017, but following their relegation from the Premier League speculation mounted as to the defender's future.

So has all the speculation relating to Dawson's possible summer departure been forgotten?

I think to some degree it is, at the moment. I wouldn’t hold my breath with the transfer window opening in just over a month - he might want to leave again or have a bid come in for him.

If Craig Dawson stays, then it proves from both parties they are happy with one another, and the position West Brom find themselves in, the defender is certainly doing his part to get the fans back on side.

They are in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League so that should be the focus above and beyond and potential goings on during the New Year.

Gary Hutchinson

I wouldn’t imagine so.

Football fans are fickle, they’ll cheer a player for a few good performances but scratch his car in the car park for wanting to leave.

Managers are a little more pensive and I would suspect Darren Moore remembers.

No point in making life awkward now though.

George Harbey

I’d say so.

Anybody’s head would turn when there is a chance to stay in the Premier League after relegation from the top flight.

He’s becoming a very important player for them this season.
