‘He’s an absolute beast’ – Plenty of supporters react as defender makes Shrewsbury switch

Shrewsbury Town announced the signing of Northampton defender Aaron Pierre last night, landing him on a three-year deal.
Pierre made 60 appearances for the Cobblers in a two-year stay with the club, rising to captain them towards the end of last season. The fee is undisclosed, as is customary in today’s game.
He was named Northampton’s Player of the Year last season and Shrews boss Sam Ricketts was delighted to get the deal over the line.
“It is a really good signing and a player who we have been chasing for a while now,” Ricketts told the club’s official site.
“I went and had him watched an awful lot towards the end of last season as he was a player who was in my plans.”
The left-sided centre back began his career with Brentford, but left the club following short loan spells with Cambridge and Wycombe. He moved permanently to Adams Park which is where he established himself as a strong, committed centre back.
He’s also a Grenadian international, appearing five times for his country.
Shrewsbury and Northampton fans were both quick to react to the move, with positive comments coming from both sides of the switch.
Got to be happy with this one. Top work from the gaffer and Brian
