Jaap Stam’s Reading side are facing a relegation battle in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Royals slipping further into trouble following last night’s defeat to Sheffield United.

The Blades picked up a 3-1 victory at the Madejski Stadium, which has left Reading in 18^th, just four points above the relegation zone heading into the final 12 fixtures of the season.

Billy Sharp was on the scoresheet twice for the Blades, with Mark Duffy’s sensational effort adding to Reading’s woes.

Omar Richards briefly put Reading back into the game, before Leandro Bacuna saw a penalty saved moments before Sharp’s second goal.

Overall it was another dismal defensive display from Reading, with the Royals struggling to deal with Sheffield United.

Tiago Ilori was disappointing once again in Reading’s defence, with the 25-year-old struggling to deal with the likes of Sharp.
