QPR manager Mark Warburton has secured the services of former Brentford defender Yoann Barbet on a free transfer, following the 26-year-old's departure from Griffin Park after four years at the club.

The French centre-back has agreed a three-year deal at Loftus Road, on the back of his time at the Bees where he scored seven goals in 118, after joining from Chamois Niortais in the summer of 2015.

But does Barbet get into the QPR starting XI?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"He will likely be one of QPR's key players next season, especially in defence.

"Barbet would be an ideal partner for skipper Toni Leistner, as he offers a more technical side of the game to Leistner, who is more of a traditional centre-back.

"It is likely he will impress straight away and could quickly become a fans favourite. With him in the side QPR should be a lot more resolute than last season, and will likely keep a lot more clean sheets."

Jacob Potter

"He’s a certain starter.

"This is a fantastic signing for the Hoops and I’m surprised they’ve been able to sign him ahead of the other teams interested.

"He’s got experience of playing in the Championship on a regular basis, and Warburton won’t have signed him to sit on the substitutes bench.

"He’ll start, no doubt about it."

George Brooks

"This is a fantastic signing for QPR, especially on a free transfer.

"Barbet has been an important player for Brentford over the past few seasons and he's got plenty of experience in the Championship.

"He's perfectly capable of walking straight into the QPR team and would bring some much-needed solidity to their defence."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, of course he does.

“He’s a proper talent, a player with class and poise.

“QPR have some exciting talent going forward, but there has been question marks over how they look at the back.

“Barbet addresses that, to a degree. He can play left back, central in a two or on the left of a three.

“That’s real flexibility from a Championship experienced player.”
