Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce will be relishing the summer transfer window, giving him the chance to stamp his own mark on his squad and prepare a side capable of a serious top-six challenge next season.

Bruce has already started his recruitment quest, with the Owls looking to battle it out with Norwich City, Sheffield United, Cardiff City and Derby County for the signature of Rotherham United midfielder Will Vaulks, according to TEAMtalk.

If the Owls were the team to win the race for the 25-year-old, would he get into the Owls' current starting XI?

We discuss........

Louie Chandler

"I think he definitely would.

"Neither Joey Pelupessy or Kieran Lee showed anywhere near enough consistency to make that spot their own and I think Bruce will definitely be looking to strengthen that area.

"Vaulks is an excellent box-to-box midfielder and when it comes to end product is miles ahead of the other two."

Alfie Burns

“It depends how much Bruce shakes things up this summer, but he’d have a very good chance of doing just that.

“Vaulks has plenty of quality and would complement some of Wednesday’s midfield options well.

“He’s a Bruce-type player, so you can see the Owls boss finding room somewhere in the midfield for him.”

Ben Lang

"This is a move that I can really see coming to fruition. Tranmere, Sunderland and Aston Villa.

"He is the kind of dynamic midfielder that Bruce would benefit from having around and I think he would start for the club, especially if there are some outgoings.

"This is a move that Bruce should really try to push over the line."
