Nottingham Forest kicked off 2021 in the best possible way, defeating Preston North End by a goal to nil at the weekend.
The Reds are now five games unbeaten in the Sky Bet Championship, after picking up only their second away win of the season on Saturday afternoon.
Forest had the better of the chances in the opening 45 minutes, with Anthony Knockaert guilty of wasting a big chance in the opening stages.
Preston improved in the second half, hitting the woodwork twice through Tom Barkhuizen and Ben Davies, before Forest punished them.
Lewis Grabban stepped up and fired in from 12 yards after they were awarded a penalty for handball, securing a vital win for Chris Hughton’s side.
Forest did have Brice Samba to thank, though. The goalkeeper made a host of saves to keep Preston at bay, including a fine stop to deny Paul Gallagher in the dying embers.
Samba also denied Barkhuizen, whose close-range header looked to be heading into the net, rounding off a superb afternoon for the shot-stopper.
Here, we take a look at Forest fans’ reactions to Samba’s performance at the weekend…
