There was huge pressure on Britt Assombalonga heading into the 2017/18 campaign, following his £15m move from Nottingham Forest to Middlesbrough.

Assombalonga has made a flying start to his Boro career, scoring five goals in eight Sky Bet Championship appearances for Garry Monk’s side.

The striker has now taken to his personal Twitter account to reveal that he has reached the 100-goal mark in his career, following his strike against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has scored goals whilst playing for Watford, Wealdstone, Braintree, Southend United, Peterborough United, Nottingham Forest and now Middlesbrough.

Assombalonga’s most prolific goalscoring season came for Peterborough during the 2013/14 campaign, when he scored 33 goals across all competitions.

The Boro striker issued a short message with his tweet, saying: “100 and counting #UTB.”

Following the striker’s social media post about his achievement, here is how Boro’s supporters reacted…
