Sky Bet Championship action returns this weekend with Coventry City and Birmingham City kicking us off later this evening in the second tier.

There's now no international football until well into 2021 and between now and then the season is set to really take shape, with the games coming thick and fast.

For Derby County, there is a need to kick on up the league table with Wayne Rooney and Liam Rosenior now at the helm and it looks as though the players are in decent spirits ahead of their clash with Bristol City.

Indeed, Duane Holmes posted a clip of the squad welcoming back David Marshall after his heroics on international duty with Scotland, and the video found its way onto Twitter:

The Verdict

The big story over the international break, at least concerning the home nations, was Scotland qualifying for a first major tournament in over 20 years thanks to a penalty shootout win over Serbia.

It was Marshall who was the hero of the hour, too, as he saved Aleksandar Mitrovic's penalty kick with a strong pair of hands at the most crucial moment.

A fine moment for him, then, and Derby's players are evidently delighted for him too.

Now, they need to focus on improving their own position.
