Nottingham Forest are reportedly briefing that the club is not for sale despite recent rumours, which has drawn an interesting reaction from many Reds supporters.

Rumours have been circling on social media recently that Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis wanted to sell the club and that it had been on the market for two months.

The Athletic's Paul Taylor has poured cold water on those suggestions and reported that Forest "are briefing that the club is not for sale".

It's not been an easy first few months of the season for the East Midlands club, who have started poorly and are just one place above the relegation zone despite significant investment in the squad over the summer.

Despite crowds not being present, the City Ground has been anything from quiet in 2020/21 with Sabri Lamouchi fired and replaced with Chris Hughton in October.

There has been a fair amount of takeover talk in the EFL recently with deals seemingly close at Sunderland and Forest's East Midlands rivals Derby County.

It doesn't seem if there is going to be anything similar at Forest for the time being, however, with Taylor outlining the club's stance clearly.

His update has caught the attention of the City Ground faithful, with many supporters taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
