Phil Hay has revealed that Leeds United could well see an increase in numbers to their matchday squad, with the standard 18 increased to 20 and the option there to make up to five substitutes per game.

Leeds were boosted by the EFL’s plans for the Championship’s resume later this month, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side set to be offered the chance to conclude the season the proper way and convert a table-topping position into promotion.

Amongst the proposed changes, according to Hay, will be an increase in numbers to the matchday squad. That will rise from 18 to 20 and managers will be offered the chance to make five substitutions per game.

For many Leeds fans, though, this rule change will hinder them more than help them.

They note how their increased fitness levels will mean much less given sides can turn to fresh legs from their bench, whilst others aren’t convinced Bielsa will cash in on these positively, given his reluctance to make changes when he has three available to him.

That’s just some of the reaction coming from the Leeds fans, which we breakdown below….
