Leeds United's automatic promotion hopes have not been helped by the news that full-back Barry Douglas has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, having ruptured the medial ligament in his knee during Saturday’s win against Millwall at Elland Road, as confirmed on the club website.

The loss of Douglas will almost certainly mean that Ezgjan Alioski will become manager Marcelo Bielsa's first choice at left-back, having filled in there previously with some success already this season.

So how much pressure is on Alioski now following the loss of Douglas?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“There’s a bit, but he’s always impressed at full back.

“I like him there more than in an advanced position, so he should be ok.

“There’s pressure on every member of the squad, Alioski is no different.”

Jacob Potter

"He’ll thrive under this pressure.

"Alioski has hardly put a foot wrong all season and I can’t see him being fazed by the pressure on his shoulders now.

"He’ll play a crucial role in firing Leeds to promotion."

Jay Taylor

“There was pressure to perform when Douglas was out of form, so nothing has changed.

“Any player that plays for Leeds needs to live up to the pressure the fans put them under whenever they step out onto the pitch.

“It has been heightened, of course, after the season-ending injury to the left-back, but I think Alioski will thrive on that.”
